How much toothpaste for little kids?
Approximately 25% of children have had cavities before entering kindergarten. The American Dental Association now says go ahead and give your baby a tiny smear of fluoride toothpaste about the size of a grain of rice once their first tooth comes in. Then when they are 3 to 6 years old they should graduate to a pea-sized amount. Kids should spit out the toothpaste as soon as they are old enough to do so.
