Practicing good oral hygiene – What should I be doing?

Brush your teeth gently twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and toothpaste containing fluoride.  It’s important to also brush your tongue and to gently brush your gums each time.  Manual or power brushes are both acceptable options.

Replace your toothbrush every 3 months or sooner.  A worn toothbrush will not do a good job cleaning your teeth and may irritate your gums.

Use floss to clean between your teeth.  Find a method that works for you, this could be traditional string floss or a floss aid like a floss pick.
